Integrity Compliance: Setting the Example with Advanced Standards

Duration: 1 July 2019 to 30 November 2020

This innovative initiative aims to promote integrity compliance and the implementation of the respective good governance practices in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of Albania (MEI). The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, through the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tirana, and is implemented by Cooperation and Development Institute.

The main purpose is to assist and provide:

  • an overview of the current state of affairs in the implementation integrity compliance mechanisms in MEI, and identifying relevant intervention points;
  • set in motion a tailor-made capacity–building mechanism completed with the set of Integrity Compliance tools, and align the interventions based on local context and on the transfer of best-practice;
  • advocacy at national and regional level for a more prominent place of IC during the design and implementation of infrastructure projects part of the Connectivity Agenda, and promotion of IC to all relevant stakeholders
