Monitoring EIP infrastructure projects: A data scientist’s perspective

After the ratification of Agreement on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications for Nurses, Veterinarians, Pharmacists, and Midwives in the Context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), Bosnia and Herzegovina has engaged into the implementation phase.

Focused on implementation and on the adoption of the respective acquis, a multidisciplinary meeting was held at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education (CIP/CIR)*. Key topics included the recognition of higher education and professional qualifications, access to higher education, and the implementation of the Roadmap for the EU Directives on Regulated Professions (2005/36EC and 2013/55EU).

During the meeting, specific obligations under the agreements were discussed, including educational requirements, qualification recognition procedures, and necessary legislative changes at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event gathered representatives from educational, health, and professional institutions, who exchanged ideas and identified implementation challenges. Participants were encouraged to continue analyzing the MAs and to propose concrete measures for their effective implementation.

Through the ratification and active implementation of MAs, Bosnia and Herzegovina reaffirms its commitment to participating in a common regional market and contributing to the development of a stable and integrated economic future for the region.

* Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education (hereinafter CIP/CIR), was established by the Framework Law on Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH, issue 59/07), as an independent administrative organization in charge of, among other, representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in international projects in higher education; through the international network of information centres (ENIC/NARIC network), CIP/CIR provides information to the higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina on higher education institutions and programs as the basis for recognition of degrees and diplomas for further education at higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in those networks.
