In this European Year of Youth 2022, CDI is very happy to have coordinated a mission visit to Brussels for the National Youth Congress of Albania aiming at creating synergies between Tirana European Youth Capital 2022 and EU-based institutions to cement the legacy of TEYC22 during and beyond 2022.
During the visit a round of relevant meetings was organized with representatives of the European institutions, including the Directorates-General (DGs) of the European Commission for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion as well as the DG for European Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the European Economic and Social Committee, European Year of Youth team, and several youth CSOs discussing European youth policy and the youth dimension in the enlargement process. A networking reception with spotlight on youth was also hosted at the Albanian Mission to the EU.
Coinciding with the current European Year of Youth proclaimed by the European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen, both Tirana Youth Capital and the European Year of Youth are committed to further shape the legacies they will leave behind, where youth is a key driver for impactful policies.
Other visits are planned in the upcoming months in Brussels that will help exchange good practices with EU peers for creating a better environment for the youth – an environment that encourages participation and in which the youth’s needs are placed in the foreground.
We are thankful for the cooperation of each institution that welcomed TEYC and CDI.
