Job description
CDI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communications Manager to lead the development, management, and implementation of CDI’s communication strategy. The Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in promoting CDI’s activities, enhancing its online and offline presence, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to effectively promote CDI’s initiatives and objectives.
- Team Coordination: Provide oversight and coordination of communication activities within the organization, ensuring efficient workflow, task allocation, follow-up, and timely delivery of outputs.
- Alignment with Organizational Goals: Collaborate closely with the CDI team to ensure that communication outputs align with the organization’s overall objectives and strategies.
- Social Media and Web Management: Manage CDI’s social media platforms and website, creating engaging and compelling content across various channels.
- Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with key regional and international media outlets to enhance CDI’s visibility and influence.
- Content Creation: Prepare high-quality content, including blogs, op-eds, articles, and press releases.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on all communication materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Event Organization: Organize internal and external events, and coordinate CDI’s participation in conferences across Europe, occasionally taking on the role of a speaker.
- Performance Analysis: Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies, making necessary adjustments to achieve predefined objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of proven hands-on experience in communications to support organisational goals;
- Development, implementation and evaluation of a communications strategy, ideally linked to advocacy, policy and influencing;
- Creation of engaging and relevant communication and public outreach strategies including social media;
- Proven expertise in event management.
- Preferably, a strong understanding of the socio-political context of the Western Balkans region, with a focus on Enlargement, regional cooperation and Connectivity.
- Fluent English language is essential.
- Previous experience and/or relationships with regional NGOs and think tanks are considered assets;
Desired Skills:
- Proven ability to plan and execute comprehensive communication strategies.
- Self-motivated, self-initiative, well-organized, and capable of multitasking.
- Experience in organizing events and creating outreach materials (leaflets, publications, videos, social messaging).
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Canva, Mailchimp, etc.
- Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) to manage website content.
- Strategic thinking skills and a willingness to develop new ideas and initiatives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Creativity and openness to new ideas and approaches.
