Raising awareness on the Youth Manifesto in the Western Balkans

Cooperation Development Institute (CDI) will support the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO) in ‘Raising awareness on the Youth Manifesto in the Western Balkans’.

The overall objective of this assignment is to increase the participation of youth in the governance and decision-making processes of the EUSAIR and Interreg IPA programmes in the Adriatic and Ionian region, particularly in candidate and potential candidate countries, through a number of activities aimed at implementing the 12 recommendations of the Youth Manifesto.

This collaboration will focus on (i) raising awareness among youngster for the potential opportunities in both EUSAIR and Interreg IPA programmes (ii) promotion of the Youth Manifesto in the Adriatic and Ionian Region as well as (iii) target more communication towards Interreg IPA programme authorities and EUSAIR governing structures about young people’s needs and on how to incorporate them better into decision-making processes.

Main tasks are:

  • Promote the Youth Manifesto in the Adriatic and Ionian Region through i) two Interreg IPA EUSAIR Youth Conferences, and ii) ten short educational video-clips raising awareness and promoting the Youth Manifesto towards Interreg IPA Authorities and EUSAIR Governing structures in the region as well as with local authorities
  • Promote the EUSAIR and Interreg IPA in Adriatic and Ionian Region through a series of activities (project visits, seminars, tailored communication) aimed at raising awareness about the EUSAIR and Interreg IPA programmes in the Adriatic and Ionian region
  • Provide Capacity Building to youth organizations to apply to Interreg IPA programmes and to Interreg IPA recipients in general to embed Youth Manifesto recommendations when presenting (and later implementing) their project proposals, through workshops and tailored communication.
  • Prepare final report including a series of recommendations aimed at embedding youth needs and challenges in the governance of the EUSAIR, Interreg IPA programmes and national and local authorities involved.

Communication throughout this project will be carried out through CDI and Connecting Youth communication channels.
